Sustainability

A lighter web.

The internet has a footprint. Every page view consumes energy, because every digital service depends on physical infrastructure, electricity and resources. We can't change what we won't admit, so here is exactly what we do about it.

The standard

Success measured by responsibility.

For us, entrepreneurial success is not only revenue. It is the responsibility we take, the decisions we make, and the impact those decisions create. Every choice matters, from the infrastructure we run to the way we build our products.

We design our websites and product pages to be as small and efficient as possible. We avoid unnecessary complexity, reduce data transfer and focus on what people actually need. The result is a faster experience and a smaller footprint at the same time. According to website carbon measurement tools, our sites perform among the cleanest measured, producing less carbon than 99% of websites tested. We treat that not as a trophy to win once, but as a standard to hold.

The impact at scale

Every byte adds up.

One page view is tiny. But across our products we serve more than 2 million page views every month, and at that scale every unnecessary byte becomes real energy. Here is the estimated CO₂ per 2 million page views, ours against a typical comparable service.

Across our products, our websites consistently generate between 86% and 99% less CO₂ per page view than comparable services. These results don't come from carbon offsets or sustainability claims. They come from deliberate engineering: lightweight pages, optimised assets, minimal data transfer, and infrastructure powered by renewable energy.

The foundation

Infrastructure powered by renewables.

The foundation of every digital service is its infrastructure. We chose Hostpoint as our hosting partner, and not because it was the cheapest option.

Hostpoint runs its Swiss data centre on electricity sourced exclusively from renewable energy, including wind, solar and hydropower. By choosing a Swiss provider that invests in renewables and responsible operations, we shrink the impact of the infrastructure behind every product we ship. The same Swiss servers that keep your data under Swiss privacy law also keep its energy footprint low.

Less complexity, less waste

The most sustainable feature
is often the one we don't build.

A sustainable digital product starts with better questions. Do we really need this feature? Does it improve the experience? Is this extra data transfer necessary? Often the most sustainable solution is simply the simplest one. By keeping our products lightweight, efficient and focused, we cut unnecessary resource consumption and build better experiences at the same time.

We don't believe sustainability is a destination. It is an ongoing responsibility reflected in everyday decisions, from the partners we choose to the products we build. We will keep looking for ways to reduce our impact, because we can't change what we won't admit.

Built in, not bolted on

Sustainability isn't something
you add later.

It's something you build from the very first line of code.
